The Chemical Engineering program is designed to train professionals who are prepared to meet the needs of today's society. Graduates will be able to design, develop, evaluate, and manage physical, chemical, and biochemical transformation processes that convert raw materials into high-value-added products for the chemical, biochemical, and food industries.

This field is closely linked to innovation, as it incorporates technology into the development of new transformation processes or the improvement of existing ones, so that they are carried out more efficiently, are safe for the people who perform them, have a lower environmental impact, and also make a positive contribution to the market by enabling the country’s industrial development and modernization.

Field of Work

Graduates of the PUCP chemical engineering program work at national and multinational companies, as well as in their own startups, applying their technical, management, and entrepreneurial skills to the processing of raw materials and the development of innovative products and processes in the chemical and biochemical industries. They work primarily in the agro-industrial, food, cosmetics, and polymers sectors, as well as in the extractive and manufacturing industries. In addition, they work in the areas of research and development, production, quality control, safety and the environment, formulation, and project management.
