Environmental and Sustainable Engineering is essential to any engineering project. Professionals in this field are able to tackle the technical challenges of an engineering project and provide comprehensive solutions that take into account environmental, social, cultural, and economic aspects at the local, regional, and global levels.

In a country like Peru, which is constantly growing and where engineering plays a key role, environmental and sustainable engineering is vital for growth that is safe and environmentally responsible.

Field of Work

This academic program is designed to meet an existing need in Peru. There is a need for professionals capable of contributing to both the public and private sectors in the areas of environmental management, renewable energy, industrial ecology, environmental policy, geography, and the environment. Throughout their professional training, students will gain a holistic perspective on these industries and, drawing on this knowledge, will be able to anticipate, prevent, and ultimately reduce potential environmental impacts, thereby helping to address major environmental challenges.

During their undergraduate studies, students will have the opportunity to take specialized courses in areas such as sustainability, infrastructure, extractive industries and safety, water resources, and energy. In addition, they will have the chance to join university-based research groups specializing in environmental issues, participate in the development of public policies and environmental regulations, and get involved in multidisciplinary projects located in various regions of Peru. All of this will enable them to work as specialists in environmental impact assessment, as well as environmental managers and consultants.
