What is meant by “Continuing Education”?

It is the process of lifelong learning that accompanies a person throughout their life, enriching the various areas or dimensions that make up the complexity of the human being: personal, spiritual, moral, professional, social, cultural, etc. This educational process, which the University regards as a primary function among the responsibilities it must fulfill in society, does not—because it is complementary in nature—lead to a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree, nor to a professional degree, nor to any certification equivalent to these.

Continuing Education Activities

The types of continuing education activities are: certificate programs, courses, workshops, language classes, and other activities. Continuing education activities may include:

• Work-related: These are continuing education activities designed to improve an individual’s professional knowledge and skills within the workplace in which they are employed. It is continuing education for the workplace.
• Personal development: These are continuing education activities aimed at enriching and improving an individual’s quality of life. It is lifelong learning.
