It brings together the engineering faculty at PUCP. Its members are dedicated to study, teaching, research, and university social responsibility in this field. It includes the departments of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Telecommunications Engineering. In addition, this department leads the accreditation and reaccreditation processes for PUCP’s engineering programs at the national and international levels.

Rafael Aguilar
Rafael Aguilar holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Minho (Portugal) and is currently a Full Professor in the Department of Engineering at PUCP. Professor Aguilar serves as Coordinator of the Civil Engineering Section and is also director of the “Engineering and Heritage” research group and a member of the “Materials Modification” group. Dr. Aguilar actively collaborates with universities in Chile and abroad and has led a series of research projects in the areas of nondestructive testing, diagnostic assessment of historic buildings, advanced seismic analysis, structural monitoring, vibration control, and the development of new materials. Professor Aguilar has more than 100 publications in indexed journals and at international conferences.
