Office of the Vice President for Research (VRI)

Created by the University Assembly in April 2009, it has been responsible for promoting, funding, coordinating, and publicizing the University’s research, creative, and innovation efforts. It serves as a resource for training in the development of research projects, with the aim of facilitating applications by students and faculty to internal or external, national or international competitive grants.

He is a senior professor in the Department of Engineering, holds a Ph.D. in Latin American History from Pablo de Olavide University (Seville), and has a master’s degree in Communications and a degree in mechanical engineering from PUCP.
At our university, he has served as dean of the Graduate School and the School of Science and Engineering, director of Academic Relations for the School of Science and Engineering, head of the Office of Innovation, and co-founder of E-Quipu, the Center for Innovation and Development, and the Electronic Engineering Specialization.
Ismodes has served as chairman of the board of Sedapal and of the Osinergmin Dispute Resolution Tribunal, as a member of Indecopi’s Commission on Inventions and New Technologies, and as executive director of Concytec, among other positions.
He is a researcher, consultant, and advocate for research, development, innovation, and entrepreneurship in Peru. He is also the author of several books and articles on the subject.
