The OIGD is part of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and aims to coordinate and strengthen policies and strategic initiatives promoting gender equality and the recognition of diversity among all members of our community. It also seeks to position the PUCP as a model institution in incorporating a gender perspective into institutional policies within the Peruvian university system.

Marcela Huaita Alegre
Attorney and professor at PUCP, LLM from American University, Ph.D. candidate in law. Research associate at IDEHPUCP. She has extensive experience in the public sector; she served as Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations (2015–2016) and Deputy Minister of Women (2012–2013). She is a member of the Latin American Network of Women Legal Scholars (since 2004), an associate of the NGO Movimiento Manuela Ramos (since 2004), and a faculty associate at the Center for the Advancement of the Rule of Law in the Americas at Georgetown University (since 2022). Former president of the CIM/OAS (2016) and of the CEVI/MESECVI/OAS (2022–2023).
