Institute of Omics Sciences and Applied Biotechnology (Icoba)

It promotes and contributes to the advancement of scientific and technological research in Peru in disciplines related to the life and health sciences. It also adds value to biodiversity and its own technological developments. Icoba has fully equipped facilities for experiments with seedlings, microorganisms, cells, and tissues, as well as for the processing and synthesis of biomaterials.

Director

She holds a degree in chemistry from PUCP, a Master of Science in Forest Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology from Michigan Technological University (U.S.), and a Ph.D. in toxicology from the University of Rochester (U.S.). She specializes in the evaluation of medical, healthcare, and biotechnology products. She is a faculty member in the Department of Engineering. She leads interdisciplinary projects aimed at implementing technologies that are safe for people and the environment.
