An academic unit comprising the specializations of Performing Arts Creation and Production, Theater, Music, and Dance. As such, it trains highly qualified actors, musicians, and dancers to take on all aspects of their artistic disciplines with competence and leadership. Each graduate is capable of engaging in performance, research, and creative work related to the cultural development of the country and the world.

Raúl Renato Romero Cevallos
He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from PUCP, a master’s degree in ethnomusicology from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in musicology from Harvard University. He served as director of the PUCP Institute of Ethnomusicology from 1985 to 2017. He served as Director of the PUCP School of Music from 2009 to 2013, Chair of the Organizing Committee for the School of Performing Arts in 2012, and Academic Coordinator of the Music Specialization from 2017 to 2019. He is currently Director of the Master’s Program in Musicology at PUCP. He has been a visiting professor at the University of California, Los Angeles, and at Colgate University in New York State, USA. In 2005, he was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship, and in 2005, 2009, and 2015, he received support from the British Library’s Archives at Risk program.
