In a context where social entrepreneurship can contribute positively to the development of nations, this study aims to analyze the relationship between the components of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), opportunity recognition competence (ORC), and perceived values on sustainability (PVS) with social entrepreneurial intention (SEI). Additionally, it examines the relationship between social entrepreneurial self-efficacy (SESE), attitudes toward entrepreneurship (ATE), and SEI, as well as the link between SEI and actual social entrepreneurial action (SEA). The data were collected from a sample of 522 high school students in Peru, all participants in a national social entrepreneurship education program. Through a Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling, it was found that attitudes toward entrepreneurship (ATE) and perceived behavioral control (PBC), two of the three components of the TPB, have a positive and significant effect on SEI, along with PVS. In addition, the partial mediation of ATE in the relationship between social entrepreneurial self-efficacy (SESE) and SEI was confirmed. This study contributes to the literature on social entrepreneurship by providing evidence-based insights for developing targeted educational strategies that nurture social entrepreneurial mindsets in high school students within emerging country contexts. The results provide novel insights into how young individuals in a highly entrepreneurial yet socially underdeveloped country like Peru, where social entrepreneurship is very scarce. The findings offer practical implications for educators and policymakers seeking to design educational interventions that foster social entrepreneurial intention and action among youth in emerging economies.

Abstract¿In a highly competitive context where generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools are gaining increasing relevance in educational learning environments, it is essential to understand the motivations and factors driving graduate students to adopt these technologies. This study systematically identifies the factors influencing graduate students' intentions to use GAI tools. Students and alumni from a graduate business school in Peru were surveyed to assess their intentions regarding GAI technology usage. The study builds on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) by incorporating GAI literacy as a variable. In late 2024, 251 participants from diverse backgrounds completed a questionnaire, which was then analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS 4.1.0.2. This analysis aimed to uncover key factors influencing GAI adoption in higher education. The findings reveal that performance expectancy (PE), effort expectancy (EE), and perceived risk (PR) significantly influence the intention to use GAI, whereas facilitating conditions (FC) and social influence (SI) do not. Furthermore, prior experience with GAI moderates the relationships between FC, SI, and the intention to use GAI. These insights into the factors shaping GAI adoption intentions are vital for informing strategies to ethically leverage artificial intelligence (AI) in business and academia. By understanding user motivations, organizations can develop targeted policies and training programs to ensure responsible AI integration and maximize its potential benefits.

Purpose This study explores the influence of entrepreneurial traits on the Sustainable Entrepreneurial Orientation (SEO), a complex dynamic capability, of the decisionmakers. Design/methodology/approach Coming from a positivist paradigm, the analysis used a PLS-SEM technique on a sample of 121 decision-makers of micro and small-sized enterprises operating in different sectors in Peru, a highly entrepreneurial country in Latin America. Findings The main findings of this research show that SEO is fostered by a combination of entrepreneurial traits such as conscientiousness, resilience, self-efficacy, and cognitive reappraisal, a mechanism of emotional regulation. Implications The study is a first attempt to assess SEO from the individual level. Regarding managerial implications, the contribution of the study allows us to infer that the micro and small-sized companies, along with the decision-makers and the firms¿ members, need to be oriented towards sustainable entrepreneurship to contribute to the 2030 Agenda. To this end, it is crucial to foster entrepreneurial traits that would promote SEO as a capability that explains the predisposition of individuals and organizations toward sustainable practices. Originality The application of PLSSEM has allowed us to identify which entrepreneurial traits have a stronger influence on SEO at the individual level in Peruvian micro and small-sized companies. The main findings of this research show that SEO is fostered by a combination of entrepreneurial traits such as conscientiousness, resilience, self-efficacy, and cognitive reappraisal, a mechanism of emotional regulation.

Purpose ¿ This study assesses the impact of networking capability, experimentation capability and the access to financing on the startup¿s accelerated growth. Design/methodology/approach ¿ A quota sample of 119 Peruvian startups was analyzed using binary logistic regression across five models, each comprising different combinations of the three predictor variables. Findings ¿ The results indicated that while family and friendship networks, academic background, and private capital exceeding US$15,000 emerged as significant predictors of growth, professional networks and public funding programs showed no statistically significant effect. Furthermore, experimentation capabilities, particularly those involving scientific knowledge and business model consolidation, were strongly associated with growth. Practical implications ¿ Managers should consider that a combination of access to funding, experimentation capability, and networking capability provides a better prediction of accelerated growth than achieving them individually. Additionally, policymakers should consider that the amount of funding is crucial to early-stage growth startup. Originality/value ¿ This study contributes to the understanding of how dynamic capabilities drive the accelerated growth of startups in nascent ecosystems, such as in the Peruvian context. Purpose ¿ Most studies on Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) have been conducted in or with samples from developed countries. As a result, a minority of studies have focused on emerging economies despite their high entrepreneurial orientation. Thus, a comparative literature analysis with an emphasis on an international perspective assumes a gap in the existing literature. The paper aims to systematize the literature on EO across Latin America and the United States of America (USA). Design/methodology/approach ¿ A bibliometric analysis was conducted on 75 manuscripts extracted from the Scopus database. This analysis was integrated with a comparative literature analysis of 36 relevant papers. While the bibliometric analysis provided quantitative insights into research trends, citation patterns, emerging themes, and gaps within the field of study, the comparative literature analysis offered a qualitative assessment of the content and findings of the most pertinent papers. Findings ¿The bibliometric analysis revealed that 75 articles were published in 53 journals, among which the Journal of Small Business and Enterprise Development accounts for five articles and 203 citations. Moreover, most of the manuscripts were published ten years ago or less, with a peak of publications in 2020, mainly from the US. The thematic map of the network of manuscripts revealed five main clusters of papers on EO across the analysed regions: competitive advantage, entrepreneurship, internationalisation, sustainability, and management practices, whose content the literature review helped to clarify. As a result, several research propositions from each of the clusters were formulated and translated into potential research questions for future research. Originality/value ¿ To the best of the author's knowledge, minimal attention has been paid to systematising the literature on EO across specific regions and conducting a literature analysis of this dynamic capability with particular attention

Este trabajo explora las oportunidades del diseño de experiencias en la industria restaurantera de Perú, para lo cual se presentan los resultados de un estado de la cuestión en materia de modelos para evaluar la experiencia de los comensales en el restaurante; la revisión incluye modelos como SERVICESCAPE y DINESCAPE. Entre otras conclusiones, se identificó que la combinación de indicadores de los modelos analizados, en especial el modelo DINESCAPE, permite comprender los factores y aspectos más relevantes para una buena experiencia en restaurantes; sin embargo, esta se debe adaptar a cada marca, según su tipo, público objetivo y oferta gastronómica. Por último, se concluye que el diseño estratégico, a través del rol del diseñador, debe ser considerado en el Perú como referente para el diseño de experiencias en el ámbito de restaurantes de la ciudad de Lima.

La visión del estudio es evaluar el estado de la creatividad en el ecosistema de las startups en el Perú, para lo cual se aplicó una metodología cualitativa exploratoria a través de entrevistas en profundidad y la técnica de observación en espacios relacionados a dicho ecosistema, como workshops, conferencias, bootcamps, ferias y otros eventos. Así también se propone descubrir cuál es el estado de la creatividad en las startups en el Perú, con el fin de encontrar patrones y relaciones entre ellas, entre los agentes del ecosistema y las instituciones transversales como las universidades, incubadoras y aceleradoras. Asimismo, buscamos, a través del reconocimiento de aspectos relevantes del ecosistema peruano, fomentar la creatividad, a través de un proceso creativo el cual dé lugar a la innovación en las startups peruanas.

La visión del estudio es investigar, proponer y definir la creación de herramientas y espacios necesarios para que los innovadores tanto ingenieriles como diseñadores se junten, compartan sus ideas y, eventualmente, formen sinergias. Para ello, determinamos los aspectos diferenciadores del diseño en los emprendimientos peruanos basados en innovación. Asimismo, los espacios permitirían la interacción entre especialistas del diseño, del marketing y de la comunicación con ingenieros de diversas ramas con el fin identificar potenciales intereses en determinados proyectos, compartir ideas y crear equipos innovadores que les permitan seguir con el desarrollo de sus ideas. El impacto sería radical al introducir un concepto no antes visto en el país ni en otras universidades que animan a equipos de emprendedores a presentarse para ser asesorados con miras a un premio monetario para desarrollar su idea innovadora; además, reunir a especialistas del diseño con profesionales altamente técnicos, ayudarlos a entender que el diseño es una pieza clave y esencial en toda creación orientada al público y, por último, brindarles el espacio perfecto para formar alianzas, beneficiará el desarrollo emprendedor en el Perú. En suma, el estudio propone descubrir cómo el diseño es un factor diferenciador en los emprendimientos peruanos innovadores en relación con sus especificaciones orientadas al público objetivo o a las estrategias más adecuadas para llegar a este.
