PUCPIntroduction Peru Peru is undoubtedly one of the most attractive countries in Latin America. The ecological and cultural diversity, the stunning scenery, the kindness of people, historically rich cities and beautiful archeological monuments turn Peru into the unique among the nations of the world. Peru is located in the center of the west coast of South America, offering a wide variety of landscapes and climates, as a result of its geographical location peculiarities. Peru was also the space where ancient civilizations developed rich, complex society that struck high levels of civilization regarding architecture, textiles, ceramics, gold and silver work and many more features. The city of Lima, founded in 1535, is the capital of Peru. Lima is located on the Central Coast region, along the Pacific Ocean. Likewise, Lima is home to approximately 8 million people where the past and present are intertwined, and archaeological evidence of ancient civilizations are also part of this modern and cosmopolitan city. Our University The Pontificia Universidad Catlica del Per (Pontifical Catholic University of Peru) is a community of professors, undergraduate and postgraduate students dedicated to the education of the high academic attainment. The Pontificia Universidad Catlica del Per was founded in 1917 as the first private institution of tertiary education established in our country. This University is located on a 43-hectare-campus with a population of over 22,000 students, its professors, students and alumni are committed to achieving high academic and research attainment planning their work to the entire national community. Our institution, through the Academic Office of International Affairs and Cooperation, has become one of the most active Peruvian universities worldwide. It hosts a large number of foreign students each semester who study during a semester or a year. The PUCP manages many special programs and summer programs sending students to associated universities. The university has exchange programs with over 150 universities worldwide and also coordinates some student exchange networks. |
