The Counseling Services provides psychological care and psycho-pedagogical and vocational orientation to students at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, encouraging their integration into university life and assisting in their academic development.
Psychological Care
Scheduling Appointments
Requests are received daily. The students are asked to fill out a form with their information, and the first appointment date is scheduled. The purpose of their request for counseling is discussed at this first appointment. That same week, the interested party receives a second appointment via e-mail. The Office works to reduce the time for psychological treatments, which could last approximately six (6) months, depending on the case.
Referral Procedures
Not all students that request psycho-pedagogical care will begin psychological treatment. Assistance may be provided from some through psychological workshops dealing with the development of cognitive and personal skills and abilities. It may also be necessary to refer the student for treatments that are more specialized than what our Office can provide, for example: psychiatric, neurological, family therapy, etc.
